About Me

My Photo
Hi my name is Tab and I'm married to Leigh, and we live in a little village in Leicestershire, UK with our very cuddly Shih Tzu called Teddy and between him and Leigh they make me laugh each day! I love to spend my time either doing a bit of crocheting or inking up a rubber stamp....truly love both and I love to dabbling in a bit of cake decorating too :o)

Tilda with Ballet Shoes

Hey lovelies.....how ya doin'....good, I hope :o)

Today I want to share with you a card that I made using one of the new sweetie Magnolia's from the new Prince and Princess Collection 2012......this collection HAS to be one of  THE best collections, so far....totally and utterly love them all :o)

Anyway, I decided to use today Tilda with Ballet Shoes, and I have to say I adore her......it's the hair, I love it....and this little sweetie was an absolute pleasure to colour too...loved every minute of it :o)

Sorry for the smaller pics to normal....but I always in the past used Windows Live Writer to upload my post, but it seems to not want to play anymore :o(......I can only post a post if it has not got pictures in it....if anyone knows how to fix this please please can you tell me....I feel lost with out :o( {I don't like the ex-large pics via blogger, they are just too big LOL}

The papers are by Magnolia, and I have distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and stitched using a sewing machine.

The clear button and pin are from The Hobby House.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The sentiment is an old Hampton Art Alphabet set....that I bought for a £1 LOL....love a bargain me LOL.....

I have coloured the image using Prismacolor Pencils, blended with sansodor

The inside has been decorated in a simple style using various Magnolia and Stempelglade stamps.

Well that is all from me today, I shall be paying you lovelies a visit later today....just got some work to day first and then I shall be back :o)......

Thank you so much to each and everyone of you for your wonderful and uplifting comments, your the best :o)

For anyone interested this card will be available in my Etsy Shop later today :o)

Have a great day!

Cutie Little Bunny!

Hey lovelies....hope that you are well :o).....did ya have a good weekend!

We decided it was time to give the utility room {laundry room} and downstairs bathroom a facelift and I am super excited as its all coming along rather nicely.  It’s Pinterests fault LOL, I keep seeing all these fabulously decorated rooms on there, and I need to join in LOL.  Leigh painted the walls Saturday and started the tiling yesterday.......I went for a soft duckegg blue with white coving, ceiling and skirting boards......oooooh it looks divine and I can't wait till its finished.  The downstairs bathroom is going to be done in a light mocha brown which will compliment the utility room to perfection.....love these colours together :o)

Anyway, sorry for not being about lately, I have been working hard on my cards and projects for the next Magnolia Ink.....but they are all finished and shipped off to Sweden now, so I am can get creating again :o)
So today, I thought that I would share another little cutie bunny with you like the one I did for the Ribbon Girl Challenge last week.

This time I have gone for thinner yarn and so she only measures 2.5".....too cute!  I am so drawn to little things, I prefer them to big things any day......unless we are talking about diamonds and then the bigger the better LOL.....or cupcakes for that matter LOL

She is made from 100% 4 ply cotton yarn and the flower and her pom pom tail are 100% 4 ply wool yarn.  She only sits as her joints are secure and don’t move.  I crocheted her on a 2.5mm hook.

For anyone that would like to own this little sweetie, she is listed in my Etsy Store.   SOLD

Well that is all from me today, I shall be round to see you soon…..trying to keep up my commenting as best I can and I know I have some to do from last posts, so be round soon, my lovelies :o)

New Stamps - Medieval Tilda

Yoo-hoo, me lovelies!

How are you all doing today……we have actually had some lovely sunshine today and sitting in the conservatory earlier with it shining through the window you would have thought it was a lovely peaceful Summers day…..however, my illusions were soon shattered when a little Teddy Bear came galloping across the lawn squeaking his new fluffy octopus toy that we bought him at the weekend……well it was nice while it lasted LOL.

Anyway, wanted to nip on today and share a card that I made using a couple of the new Magnolia Stamps that will be available soon as part of the New Prince and Princess Collection :o)……these two stamps  are called Medieval Tilda and Tilda’s Princess Horse….both super cute, especially the horse.  I am not really a horsey person, but I love the sweet expression on this little fellows face, and he will go so well with some of the other collections.  Sorry I can give you links to them…..but hopefully they will be available from your usual Magnolia stockist very shortly :o)

{Keep your eye out for other DT members showing some Sneak Peeks too…….}
I have used some of that delish Blue and White Stripy Ribbon from the Ribbon Girl…I love this stuff :o)  Also from the Ribbon Girl, I have used some Pretty Guipure Lace, Butterfly charm, Button {out of white mixed bag}, Baker Twine, Crown Pin and little bell charm {hiding in the flowers at the top}….when you shake the card it sounds like the horses reins :o)

The paper and sentiment are by Magnolia.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

I have coloured Tilda and her pony in with Prismacolor Pencils, blended with Sansodor.

I have decorated the inside very simply using some for the Stempleglade stamps – Vintage Garden.

Well I shall love you and leave you all!  Thanks for all the lovely comments you all leave me….I have been being really good of late and returning the kind gestures….long may it continue LOL…

I am away from tonight for a long weekend away…..really looking forward to getting some sea air in my lungs and to go and see how me Pops in doing :o)……not seen him since Christmas so it will be good to see how he is doing in the flesh….he says he is fine over the phone, but I like to see for myself, if you know what I mean LOL……

Anyway, have a good rest of the week and enjoy your weekend :o)

Thursday's Card - Sweet Wonderful You!

Good morning, me lovelies!

Hope your all doing well…..rather cold today again…I feel frost bite setting in.  Last night me and Leigh, went to bed with not one duvet but two so all in all we had 25tog keeping us warm :oD…….funny though cos I woke up this morning and I felt like I was in the Caribbean LOL….phew, was it warm!  Little Teddy was curled up in the tightest ball, making sure all this little paws with toasty, hee hee.

Anyway, as promised last night here I am with a card to share :o)……I have been digging in my beloved Maggie draws again and thought that Tilda with Hanging Rabbit  might like I trip out.  She is one of my all time faves and is from the 2011 Butterfly Dreams Collection.

I have teams her up with some of the delish papers from Raspberry Road Designs….these are called Always and Forever and are a brand new release this week :o) ….lots of pretty pink papers :o)
{psssst, this weekend there is a 50% off all Raspberry Road Papers Valentines Sale going on, don’t miss out}

I have stamped some postage marks on the papers, they are from a set that I picked up at Hobbycraft the other week, called Portabella Road and have been brought out for the Jubilee this year.  The little postcard poking out from behind the image is from the same set too.
The Cream Pleated Ribbon, White Pretty Blossoms, White Mini Rosebuds, Lilac Semi Open Rose Buds, White Vintage Cluny Lace, Lilac Crown Pin, Butterfly Charm and the White Crazy Mesh {top corner of the postcard} is all from the fabulous Ribbon Girls……truly HEART all their embellies :o)

The rest of the flowers are from Wild Orchid and Stash.  The metal flowers {spacers} are from the Hobby House, as is the heart doily.

The butterfly is a Martha Stewart Punch and the sentiment is by Magnolia.

I have coloured Tilda using Prismacolor Pencils, blended with Sansodor.

I get asked a lot about my pencils, and there are some fab tutorials out there on the web and You Tube on how to use them.  I have never done a tutorial, purely because tutorials are just not my thing, some people love them and can pop them out real fast, but not me, they take me an AGE.  I did one once for Magnolia Ink and boy oh boy it put me off for life.  Hope you all understand……honestly I am not being mean, it just purely not my thing!

The inside has been decorated with more of the Portabella Road Stamps, they are really a rather cute set of stamps.  The little postage stamps have sentiments on the them, I think they are made my Docrafts?!?

Before I go I want to share with a new sneak peek of the the up and coming Magnolia Prince and Princess Collection…….OMG, HOW CUTE!  I am almost peeing glitter in the excitement for these little beauties :oDDD

Don’t forget to scroll down for last nights posts about Janet’s GD Call for the Stamp Basket….gotta be in it to win it my lovelies!
Have a great day all and keep warm!
Much love

Special Magnolia Stamps

Hey lovelies, back again LOL

Just wanted to let you all know that if anyone is after any of the Special Magnolia Stamps, that seem to be attracting silly prices on Ebay.....you can find them at these stores so far.......
 and

I think they both ship worldwide, I now that Magnolia-licious and Creashop Duymelot definitely does.  The stamps are on Pre-Order and once stock arrives they will be shipped.

These stamps will eventually be available in all stores that stock Magnolia Stamps, so please, please hold onto to your hard earned money, and try and avoid these high priced auctions on Ebay, these stamps are not "rare".

Have a good evening all, and see you all tomorrow with a new card :o)

Meet My New BFF…….

Morning lovelies, hope that you are well today :o)

Sorry that I didn’t pop on yesterday to share my knitting…..yes you did read that right….knitting LOL…..I was in a bit of a cross mood yesterday, and well I could not inflict that on you all now could I, LOL…For those of you that have read my blog over the years, I am always a very jolly and cheerful kinda gal, so I think you would have called me grumpy knickers yesterday and told me to clear off LOL……

Anyway, my mood is superb today and I am back to my old Tabby self :o), so lets get on with today’s “Show and Tell” :o)

Now Like the title of the post says……Meet my New BFF……this wonderful book :o)

016

I have knitted since I was a wee nipper, but I have never been confident with it…..its all those dropped stitched and holes that they form that has totally got me scared to do it more often, plus I am a tight knitter too, so I end up with claw hands, which is not a good look LOL….so when I spied this book I thought why not, lets beat the phobia…..and I have to say it worked:o)  I think I knitted tight cos I was scared of dropping stitches, so now that I know how to pick the stitch back up, jobs a good un….no more claw hands!  I was also shocked to discover in the book that there are about 12 different ways to cast on and the same to cast off……who knew not me that’s for sure LOL…..I have been educated well on the old knitting front since I got my new BFF LOL….

Here is what I made over the weekend…..and I truly HEART him.  I got the pattern from HERE, you do have to pay a few pounds for it, but I think it was well worth it. Anything that I was stuck with I found in my new BFF too :o)

015

I used smaller pins, and yarn to the pattern so he is a wee bit smaller.  The yarn I did the rabbit in is Alpaca Yarn, so it is super duper soft, and the clothes are knitting in 100% Cotton Yarn.  All the yarn is Double Knit weight, and the body was knitted on 3mm pins and the clothes on 2.25mm pins.  He measures standing 9 inches to the top of his ear and sitting 6.5 inches to the top of his ear.

All his joints move, and they are hinged with a button, which you can just slightly see in the below pic.

012

He doesn’t stand un-aided as his feet are too round, but he is good at leaning :o)

I am so very very pleased with how he turned out and have decided he is just for my own personal softies collection…. he reminds me so much of my own bunny Ronnie Rabbit {who is currently residing in the conservatory as we speak due to the cold…..bless him, Teddy thinks its great and has spent the last 3 days curled up next to his cage watching his every move LOL} I brought him in as he is about 8 years old and so not a youngster anymore, I have a feeling he will not go back out now till the spring, as he seems to rather like all the attention he is getting…..I am so very sentimental about my animals, I can’t help it.

Anyway, hope that you all wrap up warm and keep safe and I shall see you all very soon :o)

New Look Blog and a Few Pics…….

Afternoon lovelies, hope that you are all well today…….isn’t a wonderful feeling that its FRIDAY……yayyyyyyy, truly and utterly LOVE Fridays :o)

Anyways, what do you think to my blogs new look…..I thought it was about time I updated it a bit to reflect all the hobbies and crafts that I do.  I spent yesterday morning fiddling about compiling all the things that I LOVE…….to be honest I had to scale down the pic a bit as there were loads of things that I wanted to include LOL, but I feel it now truly represents me as a person…..I wasn’t sure what colour combo to go with, but it became apparent when I gathered together all the things I wanted to include, that Aqua and Red seemed the obvious choice :o)….truly Love the combo together, especially when you include Red Spotty into that too…..addicted to spots, draws my eye where ever I am :o)

I also thought that I would share a few pictures of some of the cakes that I had orders for over Christmas…..I included the Christmas Cake again too.

Sample Cakes

I made loads more for friends and family, but they were just flavoured ones rather than decorated ones…….forgot to take a piccy of those LOL.

Here is a pic of a blanket I made as a special order before Christmas for a lovely lady ;o)….it was super duper soft and I enjoyed making sooooo very much!

Joey Blanket

…..more hats that I have made for my Etsy Shop, some are still available some have sold, but they can all be re-created.  The little head band is something I am trialling out, I made this one from some mohair yarn mixed with some cotton yarn.  The little button is from Ribbon Girl.

page1

…..and finally I thought that I would share some pics of little Teddy Boy

Now normally I share pictures of him being a little tinker, but today I thought that I would share some of him when he is being a real cutie, LOL…..

Here he is being all cute and resting his head on my crochet pattern folder LOL….my own personal bookmark, hee hee!

001

….here he is having cuddles with his Mam…..too cute <3 !

010

….and here he is shaking paws with me LOL…..he is such a sweetie when he does this LOL……I wish I had taken it from below so you could see the expression on his face, the concentration is unbelievable LOL

012

Anyway, that's all from me today….hope you all have  good weekend and I shall see you all next week.  I have a little knitted character to share with you all soon ……yes you read that right KNITTED LOL……I have donned the knitting needles and beaten my phobia of them LOL…..thanks to a very good book :o)…..but more about that next time :o)

Hugs Tab and Teddy
